Unique in the Media
Unique Print NY has been at 252 Greene Street since the 1970s, when the shop first opened as Unique Copy Center. Over the years, we have become somewhat of a historic place and cultural landmark in the area. Check out where Unique has been featured in the media as a filming location for television shows and photo shoots!
Quinn Shephard for Interview Magazine (2018)
Quinn Shephard visited Unique Print NY’s design studio for an editorial shoot with Interview Magazine in 2018.
The images accompanied an article in which she discusses her movie Blame—directed, written by, and starring herself—based on a risqué relationship between a teenage girl and her teacher.
Impractical Jokers (2016)
Murr and Q of Impractical Jokers posed as employees at Unique Copy Center and pranked some frustrated customers. Thankfully our actual employees are much better at communicating than these guys!
30 Rock (2010)
“This is an awesome copy shop!” —Tracy Jordan
Unique Copy Center appeared in a Season 4 episode of 30 Rock, in a scene where Tracy Jordan and his entourage take a walk down memory lane and visit his old neighborhood.
Locals were excited to see Tracy Morgan in the area, and we’d love to have him back in the shop anytime.
Chappelle’s Show — Popcopy (2003)
The first episode of Chappelle’s Show is remembered by many as one of the best of the series. Dave Chappelle’s satirical sketch of an employee training video for “PopCopy” was filmed at Unique Copy Center, but inspired by a bad experience at Kinko’s (now known as FedEx Office), where chain store practices could make for an impersonal, unprofessional, unsatisfactory visit.
Watch for some humor on why you might want to avoid a big-box store and come to a local print shop instead.
